Revlon Cherry Berry and Grape Shimmer

Revlon Cherry Berry is a pretty, slightly muted blue toned red/berry creme. The formula on Revlon's reds are usually 1 - 2 coaters, this one included. The colour is flattering on my skin, and the formula is easy to work with. Not an uncommon colour at all so not crazy about it. I tried adding a coat of an old Revlon Glimmer Gloss in Grape Shimmer to see what it looks like on the nail. It does add a beautiful shine to the nail, and a small amount of purple and blue shimmer. The shimmer is very tiny flakes, and has a subtle effect.

NYX Girls Frizz Spots

NYX Girls Frizz Spots is a yummy holographic and silver glitter in a jelly black base. Here shown is 2 coats over black :) The glitter is very bright and contrasts over black. Black with holo glitter is always a win for me :) the only thing to be wary of with this nail polish is that it is best to use thin layers, the jelly base takes much longer to dry when used thickly - which is also why it is best to use this over a black creme, the dry time is much faster than using Frizz Spots on its' own. On its' own it takes around 4-5 coats for the black jelly to be opaque. I got mine from BeautyJoint.com along with some other NYX Girls nail polishes and each one that I have tried I have really liked :)

OPI It's My Year

I adore this beautiful colour :) OPI It's My Year is a stunning warm medium purple base with a heavy amount of gold foil shimmer. It is from the OPI Miss Universe Collection of Summer 2011. Flash and bright light brings out the base colour, and in the shade the gold stands out. It dries quickly and takes 3 coats. The formula applies and levels very well. Such a flattering, pretty colour :)

OPI Melon of Troy

Melon of Troy is originally from the OPI 2004 Greek Isles Collection, but now is part of the core OPI colour range. Two smooth coats give opacity, and the formula is fast drying. There are visible brushmarks as Melon of Troy is slighty frosty. A cute colour though :)

Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe

This is Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe from the Beyond the Mistletoe Holiday 2011 Collection. I purchased all of the 6 glitters from this collection, and this one was the least coverage, taking 3 coats to get to this stage and it is still patchy in areas. It is a little hard to apply evenly as the glitter is thick, and dries very gritty as you can see. But still, it is a beautiful glitter that makes me a little happier just by looking at it. There is mainly light blue glitter with a hint of green to it, and a good amount of vibrant holographic glitter all in a clear base. The dry time is great. Beyond the Mistletoe looks nice layered over a creme, and the lasting time is also much better. Worn alone the glitter tends to chip easily as it is thick on the nails. Overall, while it isn't my favourite glitter, it is a beauty anyway :)

Essie Smooth Sailing

This is Essie Smooth Sailing from the Summer 2011 Braziliant Collection. It is a beautiful periwinkle blue. It has plenty of silver shimmer through it, which looks like very small flakes. In the bottle the shimmer gives off just a hint of light pinkish purple and blue, but this doesn't translate well onto the nail. Though the colour is unique and pretty I am not a fan of it on me, I found it was aging on my pale skin. The formula is smooth and easy to use, and is opaque in two coats. Any uneven areas are my own fault :) I am used to using the wide OPI brushes instead of Essie's thin brushes. Whenever I use a different brand of nail polish I always love coming back to OPI's easy to use brushes. I have to say though, every Essie nail polish I have used has been top notch on formula and I am a fan of their bottles :)
