Revlon Bubble Gum

Revlon Bubble Gum is from the 2010 Scents of Summer Collection, an old one but a good classic colour. The formula is nice and opaque in two coats and lasts quite well with a good base and top coat. The dry time is average, and even with a top coat it's scent is strong. It mellows down after a couple of days. The only thing is people think I am strange smelling my fingers all the time when I wear scented nail polish... lol :)

Revlon Pink Lingerie

I'm loving how shiny this beauty dries. Goes super smooth. I thought this would be a nightmare to apply and dry but the formula is decent for a pastel colour. It takes 3 coats and dries fairly quickly. Super cute and girly :) I love colours like this as they go with most outfits <3

OPI DS Sapphire

There is something about the old OPI Designer Series that makes me all happy inside :D must be that holographic rainbow goodness. My skin goes all kinds of crazy colours against different nail polishes in pictures, I apologize. This is 3 coats of OPI DS Sapphire <3 quite a sheer polish, so I'm thinking I need to try it layered. Never enough holos :3

OPI Purple with a Purpose + OPI Can't you Sea?

I wanted to see if I could make any use of OPI Can't you Sea? - a super sheer, watery polish with tiny microflakes that reflect blue, green and gold tones. On it's own it looks terrible! I added two coats of Can't You Sea? over two coats of OPI Purple with a Purpose. It does look much better on top of another colour but it is still too sheer and underwhelming to impress me. Purple with a Purpose has great formula. I wouldn't call it muted or dusty, but isn't the brightest of purples. There is also a tiny amount of magenta shimmer in there, but sorry OPI after using Zoya Mimi this doesn't come close to being a fave purple :)

Nubar 2010 over OPI Tease-y Does It

Ahh yummy flakies <3 This is Nubar 2010 over OPI Tease-y Does It. Tease-y Does It is a beautiful shimmering deep eggplant. I used two coats, and then topped it with two thin coats of Nubar 2010. I prefer 2010 to some of the Nfu-Ohs I have simply because it is a bit more dense with flakes, and dries very quickly. It looks incredible over any colour, so grab it if you can. I bought my bottle of 2010 from www.wowshop.co , it comes in and out of stock pretty quickly though. I have noticed they have restocked 2010 a few times and sell out. You can also purchase it from www.beautybay.com/cosmetics/nubar/ who have it in stock at the moment. Definately worth picking up if you don't have a bottle already :)

Color Club Sugar Plum Fairy

Color Club Sugar Plum Fairy from the 2011 Beyond the Mistletoe Collection. I loooove this <3 but really it looks best in my opinion layered, on it's own it is gritty and hard to work up to opacity evenly. This is 3 coats, it goes on thickly. I love the holographic glitter in this one, out of the whole collection this one seemed to have the most holo glitter. It is gorgeous layered over a creme with a thick top coat. Yummy :)

A polish nightmare..

Ah Revlon Sunshine Sparkle... I had high hopes but this has to be possibly the worst nail polish I have tried. It looks pretty in the bottle, a cute pastel yellow with some light silver shimmer. But go to apply it and the nightmare begins :/ this is 5 coats, all went on streaky and painfully. It bubbles. It never EVER dries. It is a bit chalky and the colour on me looks really bad. Much worse in person... Sometimes Revlon has amazing nail polishes, I have tried many one and two coaters that look stunning from them. But this one makes me wonder - how can they approve this for sale knowing the formula is so bad. Unfortunately from seeing other blogs they think the same of this polish so my bottle can't be the only terrible one :(
I am curious to know, how have your experiences been with yellows and do you know of any good ones to recommend? All the ones I have tried are at least 3 coats if I'm lucky, and often bad application. If anyone knows a 2 coater yellow that is gorgeous please pass on the name :) I am on a search!

Milani 3D Holographic Hi-Res

Oldie and a goodie. I know everyone has seen these 1000000 times but they are that awesome that they deserve it. Milani 3D Holographic Hi-Res is a super cute light purple holo. Hi-Res has a smooth formula that is opaque in 2-3 coats depending on how thick you apply it. And always gets compliments <3 ;)

IsaDora Violet

Just a quick pic of IsaDora Violet. I love this for 3 reasons -
1. It reminds me of Sailor Mars
2. It has a jelly blurple base
3. It was a present :) they are always the best type of nail polishes
Shown is two coats, the base is a little watery so isn't super easy around the cuticles but not too bad. The magenta shimmer is beautiful and pops against the bluer jelly like base. In person there is a little more visible nail line than this picture shows. And it dries super shiny :) a good go-to purple for me. <3

Revlon Cherry Berry and Grape Shimmer

Revlon Cherry Berry is a pretty, slightly muted blue toned red/berry creme. The formula on Revlon's reds are usually 1 - 2 coaters, this one included. The colour is flattering on my skin, and the formula is easy to work with. Not an uncommon colour at all so not crazy about it. I tried adding a coat of an old Revlon Glimmer Gloss in Grape Shimmer to see what it looks like on the nail. It does add a beautiful shine to the nail, and a small amount of purple and blue shimmer. The shimmer is very tiny flakes, and has a subtle effect.

NYX Girls Frizz Spots

NYX Girls Frizz Spots is a yummy holographic and silver glitter in a jelly black base. Here shown is 2 coats over black :) The glitter is very bright and contrasts over black. Black with holo glitter is always a win for me :) the only thing to be wary of with this nail polish is that it is best to use thin layers, the jelly base takes much longer to dry when used thickly - which is also why it is best to use this over a black creme, the dry time is much faster than using Frizz Spots on its' own. On its' own it takes around 4-5 coats for the black jelly to be opaque. I got mine from BeautyJoint.com along with some other NYX Girls nail polishes and each one that I have tried I have really liked :)

OPI It's My Year

I adore this beautiful colour :) OPI It's My Year is a stunning warm medium purple base with a heavy amount of gold foil shimmer. It is from the OPI Miss Universe Collection of Summer 2011. Flash and bright light brings out the base colour, and in the shade the gold stands out. It dries quickly and takes 3 coats. The formula applies and levels very well. Such a flattering, pretty colour :)

OPI Melon of Troy

Melon of Troy is originally from the OPI 2004 Greek Isles Collection, but now is part of the core OPI colour range. Two smooth coats give opacity, and the formula is fast drying. There are visible brushmarks as Melon of Troy is slighty frosty. A cute colour though :)

Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe

This is Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe from the Beyond the Mistletoe Holiday 2011 Collection. I purchased all of the 6 glitters from this collection, and this one was the least coverage, taking 3 coats to get to this stage and it is still patchy in areas. It is a little hard to apply evenly as the glitter is thick, and dries very gritty as you can see. But still, it is a beautiful glitter that makes me a little happier just by looking at it. There is mainly light blue glitter with a hint of green to it, and a good amount of vibrant holographic glitter all in a clear base. The dry time is great. Beyond the Mistletoe looks nice layered over a creme, and the lasting time is also much better. Worn alone the glitter tends to chip easily as it is thick on the nails. Overall, while it isn't my favourite glitter, it is a beauty anyway :)

Essie Smooth Sailing

This is Essie Smooth Sailing from the Summer 2011 Braziliant Collection. It is a beautiful periwinkle blue. It has plenty of silver shimmer through it, which looks like very small flakes. In the bottle the shimmer gives off just a hint of light pinkish purple and blue, but this doesn't translate well onto the nail. Though the colour is unique and pretty I am not a fan of it on me, I found it was aging on my pale skin. The formula is smooth and easy to use, and is opaque in two coats. Any uneven areas are my own fault :) I am used to using the wide OPI brushes instead of Essie's thin brushes. Whenever I use a different brand of nail polish I always love coming back to OPI's easy to use brushes. I have to say though, every Essie nail polish I have used has been top notch on formula and I am a fan of their bottles :)

NYX Girls Emerald Forest

NYX Girls Emerald Forest is brilliant :) I love the glitter and the warm emerald glow it has. The base is a blue tone green, with a lot of warm green and golden glitter. This is 2 coats with no top coat, and the lasting time was brilliant, especially for a glitter. I definately recommend this :)

Nicole by OPI Lets get Star-ted over Revlon Blue Lagoon

I love the colour of Revlon Blue Lagoon - but the formula lets it down. After three coats it was still a bit steaky and uneven, and the dry time wasn't the best. I would recommend taking your time to apply it and wait a few minutes between coats, and use a good base coat. Blue Lagoon has a shot of silver microglitter through it which is very pretty. If anyone knows of a dupe to BL with a better formula please let me know :) I wanted to try Nicole by OPI Lets get Star-ted over top, and it looks very cute. It has iridescent glitter and holographic light purple stars. They don't sit perfectly flat on my fingernails, but where they do sit flat (or on my toes) they last on the nail until taken off with nail polish remover. Otherwise I am too tempted to peel them off :)

Misa Phazers on Stunning

This is one coat of Misa Phazers on Stunning over a black creme. It is so much brighter over black, it brings out the green, which reminds me very much of OPI Electric Eel. Phazers has a duochrome of a warm brown that leans a bit grey. There is also microglitter in there. This is a very unique colour, I can't say I have ever seen a similar nail polish. When layered on its own it takes 3-4 coats and the effect is more dull, so I would recommend using it over black. From the Misa 2011 Surreal Escape Collection. I purchased this from www.nailsupplies.us , and they still have the collection in stock :)

OPI DS Illuminate

OPI Designer Series Illuminate is a delicious scattered holographic medium brown with green duochrome. LOVE IT. Super smooth, best with two coats. Dries very quickly and lasts. The OPI DS series are my go to polishes when I am in a hurry because they dry so fast, and because I love the wide brushes for quick and easy application. The green duochrome makes this very unique and adds a glowy look to the colour. Om nom nom...

OPI Simmer and Shimmer - One of my favourites

OPI Burlesque Collection 2010 is easily my favourite OPI Collection ever. All of the glitters are so yummy to look at. The formula gets a little thick as there is so much glitter packed in Simmer and Shimmer but it means it only needs 2-3 coats to be totally opaque. The multicoloured glitter makes it so much more interesting than just a plain blue glitter; there is a big sprinkle of silver, a little red, orange, magenta, green and gold glitter in here. This goes on well if you use a base coat that is matte like NailTek Foundation. OPI glitters are brilliant. Love love love :)

OPI Holiday Glow

I am not a fan of brown nail polish, but this one is an exception. It has yummy glitter :)
This is two coats of OPI Holiday Glow from the OPI Holiday Wishes Collection 2009. It is a warm brown with a little red shimmer and a lot of nice gold microglitter. Om nom nom :3

OPI Red my Fortune Cookie with LA Girl Glitter Addict Uninhibited

This was so fun to wear, just one coat of OPI Red my Fortune Cookie and one coat of LA Girl Glitter Addict Uninhibited. Black glitter is so gorgeous :) it looks great over any colour, I wear it all the time, even though the removal process can be a little daunting. The OPI is from the Hong Kong collection, a bright tomato red that leans slightly orange. It has no shimmer, just a plain creme. I would love to find a super bright opaque lipstick in this colour.

Milani 3D Holographic Digital - rediscovering how awesome it is.

I know this is such a common nail polish and has been around for a long time, but really, how beautiful is that? Worth wearing more than just once. If you have it and haven't worn it in awhile, or even at all yet you should give it a go. It looks better on the nail than in the bottle. It really is pretty :) it soaks up the sun. This is 2 coats of Milani 3D Holographic in Digital. These Milani holographics aren't linear holos, but the holo glitter in them is slightly larger than what would normally be in a linear nail polish, which seems to make the colours that it relects more vibrant. They are easily purchased from BeautyJoint.com or CherryCulture.com for around $4.50 Formula is smooth and easy to work with, though the brushes are a bit small for my preference. The wear time isn't too bad either :)

OPI Spiderman Collection - BEST THEME EVER?

This has to be the most excited I have been for any OPI Collection, at least since the OPI Burlesque Collection. I love this theme! I can't wait to buy all of these.. They are available in May 2012. 'Just spotted the lizard' is apparently a dupe for Chanel Peridot. The red with green shatter over top looks amazing. I love you OPI :)
